Accessibility Statement

We believe everyone should be able to use our website and booking services, regardless of ability. Accessibility is not only a compliance requirement – it improves the experience for all our guests.

We continuously work to ensure that our website and any associated booking engines comply with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines.

This statement applies to Wood Hotel Bodø’s website and any external booking engines used to complete reservations.

Our approach

Accessibility is an integrated part of our digital development. We collaborate with our technology partners to improve user experience and accessibility through testing, continuous improvements, and evaluation against WCAG standards.

Compliance status

The website and booking engine partially meet the requirements of WCAG 2.1 Level AA. A review has been carried out based on relevant WCAG criteria and accessibility principles for modern hotel websites.

Known issues

While we actively work on improvements, some users may experience challenges related to:

• Keyboard and screen reader navigation
• Colour contrast in certain design elements
• Missing or incomplete alternative text for some images
• Heading structure and navigation consistency

For users with visual impairments and/or reduced colour vision

• Some pages lack a correct heading structure, making navigation less efficient for screen reader users. (WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.6)
• Several images within promotional links and destination cards use empty alt attributes, meaning their content is not described to screen readers. (WCAG 1.1.1)
• Some form elements do not correctly announce errors or loading states to screen readers. (WCAG 4.1.3)
• Some elements are missing ARIA labels, making them more difficult to interpret for screen readers. (WCAG 4.1.2)
• Some pages are missing a skip-to-content link, requiring users to navigate through full navigation menus. (WCAG 2.4.1)
• Instances of insufficient colour contrast between text and background have been identified. (WCAG 1.4.3)

For users with motor impairments

• The destination search field has autocomplete disabled, limiting autofill and faster input options. (WCAG 1.3.5)
• Some interactive elements and menus are not fully operable using keyboard navigation. (WCAG 2.1.1)

For users with cognitive difficulties

• The hotel listing page uses inconsistent heading levels, creating a confusing structure. (WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.6)
• Some form fields lack clear and persistent labels. (WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.6)
