Back to Turisthytta—THE ARROWS
Join us as we fill Café Turisthytta with music and memories on May 1st. This evening we take a step back in time, to the atmosphere of the old Turisthytta, which for generations was a gathering place for Bodø locals. Here, people shared coffee, stories and music that brought everyone together, regardless of age or background.
This night THE ARROWS take the stage with their show “BÆRRE BEATLES.” The story began back in the autumn of 1963, when four young boys from Fauske with big pop star dreams came together. Inspired by The Shadows and the British Merseybeat wave, Arrows quickly became a name to remember. In the mid-1960s they released four singles, with their version of “Diana” standing out as a classic from that era.
Although the band disbanded in 1968, they have happily reunited many times over the years. Since dusting off their instruments again in 1994, their journey has taken them from Oslo and St. Petersburg to Svalbard – and even to the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool in 2019, the very birthplace of Beatles magic. With releases in collaboration with NRK and countless performances behind them, there’s no doubt these gentlemen still know how to swing. They deliver “classic pop with punch,” guaranteed to inspire both sing-alongs and a dance or two.
For this evening, the band consists of original members Nils-Ole Steinbakk (drums) and Geir Mortensen (bass/vocals), together with Arne Kartfjord (guitar/vocals), Hans-Aksel Johnsen (keyboards/vocals) and John Magnus Johnsen(lead guitar/vocals).
The event has free entrance, and light food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Join us at Café Turisthytta at Wood Hotel for a night filled with nostalgia, true musical joy, and timeless songs from The Beatles’ treasure chest.

We’re excited to invite you to our Easter Quiz on Wednesday, April 1st! For the very first time, we’re hosting a quiz night at Café Turisthytta, and we can’t think of a better occasion than Easter week.
Participation is free, but teams must register in advance to reserve a table. Each team can have up to eight participants, so gather your favourite people and join us for quiz night!

Join us for Baby Café at Café Turisthytta, Thursday 16 April! The café is open as usual, serving sweet treats, easy lunch options and freshly brewed coffee. From 12 to 3 PM, we roll out soft mats for the babies to lie and play.
