Joakim Rainer

Bodø-born Joakim Rainer is one of Norway’s most active young jazz musicians. He has just returned to Norway after several years based in Berlin, performing at jazz clubs and festivals across Norway, Europe and New York. 

Joakim is known as a fearless musician and composer with a wide artistic range. As a solo pianist, with his own trio, and as part of numerous projects, he has gained significant attention in recent years, especially for his debut album Light.Sentence, described as “one of the most exciting and timeless works created in this format in a long time” (Nettavisen).

Joakim Rainer Trio was named “Young Jazz Musicians of the Year” at Moldejazz in 2022. His list of collaborations is long and includes Trondheim Jazzorkester, Ingebrigt Håker Flatens Exit (KNARR), ASQ, Frode Haltlis Avant Folk, Peter Evans, Ingrid Laubrock, Michael Attias, Tore Johansen, Tobias Delius, Axel Dörner, Heida Mobeck, Nick Dunston, Camila Nebbia, Signe Emmeluth and Hans Hulbækmo.
